When I was in school from K through 12, we never used word as our chosen way of writing for writing our essay. Now that I'm at FSU it is a very big game changer on how much the school promotes word and how many of my professors expect us to use for it. So I find that word is very complicated and I don't even fully understand all the components that has to offer. In comparison throughout K through 12 we use Google Docs as our chosen way of writing essays and doing assignments. I'm more used to Google Docs because I know of all the features that offers to my long exposure to it. Google Docs is my preferred use of technology when it comes to writing assignments.
The most important ISTE Standard of education is learning. No one knows anything right away. They have to spend time learning about it and then in the sense for a teacher they have to learn how to adapt that to their teaching style. That can come in the form of technology or a better way to reach out to their students and they can learn new ways from their coworkers. I really believe that you must learn before you can act. Because you can't really do anything 100% if you don't know what you're doing.
First of all being a digital native means that you were raised with the Internet, your whole entire life. That is the only thing you've known since birth. I would apply that turn to majority of up-to-date youth because many children automatically get an iPad a phone at a very young age which exposes them to the Internet. Also, a lot of these kids interact with computers at school, which gets them more familiar with that digital age. How big is difference that I see between a digital native versus a teacher that's a digital immigrant is the fact that a lot of the times the students know a lot more about technology than their teacher does and knows a lot more resources that they can use for class than the Teacher could suggest. But there are times where you'll find teachers that are really successful and knowledgeable with technology and they use that with their classes and other times you'll find teachers are behind the times and they focus on more paper and pencil assignments. I think that my future students will be more successful and more educated with the use of AI then I will be since I was not raised my whole life in an era with AI.
