Some design skills that I developed while making my website was being able to figure out how to create a Google calendar and link to the calendar everyone can view it. Also linking a map to the location of the school for my website. Some other skills that I developed was understanding what type of colors work best together and what type of fonts and sizes work well. It was very important for my website to make sure that everything was legible and that everyone was able to read it and making sure that I followed along the guidelines that were set for a good website design. Understanding this website design will really help me in my future career in case I've ever have to make a website with resources for my students when I become a teacher.
Some ways that I would use a QR code in my classroom was that I would maybe put up the exit ticket and they would have to scan the QR code. I might put up QR codes in our classroom to certain websites as a resource for them so that they can study. Another way that I could use the QR codes is doing a interactive activity where they have to scan these QR codes and figure out what part of the world connects to the questions that they see in the QR code. Or use the QR code to show off what part of the world that they were learning about. Another way that I might use a QR code in that class is to really do attendance and make sure that my students are all there by answering a morning question.
PromptAn you ask me an ethical problem that i can solve as a teacher for 4th grade in the USCaseEthical Problem:
You notice that one of your students, Liam, often forgets to bring his homework. Other students have started to complain that it’s unfair because Liam still gets to join in class activities even though he doesn’t turn in his work. One day, you overhear Liam quietly telling a friend that he doesn’t have a quiet place to do homework at home because his family shares one small room and his parents work late. Now, you must decide what to do. What should you do as the teacher? Should you hold Liam to the same rule and take points off for missing homework? Should you give him different expectations or extra help — even though other students might think it’s unfair? How can you support Liam while keeping the class rules consistent and fair for everyone?
How I would approach this ethical problem is providing Liam with a lot of support. Providing Liam with lunch hours or after school time where he can come in and do his homework. I would still hold Liam to the expectations that he does need to get his homework done even if he's having a hard time at home, but I would provide him with a lot of resources to help him get his work done. I as a teacher I'm automatically going to give my students more leniency when it comes to homework like if they let me know that they're gonna turn it in a little late then that's fine. I wouldn't take off the points right away as long as they informed me beforehand, but I would still keep that same system with Liam, but I would provide him with extra resources. I wouldn't subtract the amount of work and I wouldn't let him not turn in his homework cause that would be unfair to the other students.
